August 2025 - Enhanced ITC Display and Adjustments

We've introduced new visual alerts to help shoppers understand the time-sensitive nature of ITC savings and enhanced modeling capabilities that give installers flexibility to quote realistic scenarios with or without the federal tax credit.

In this Article

What's Changed?

  • New ITC urgency banners on Quote List view, highlighting the maximum potential tax credit
  • "Expiring" badges on Quote Detail view emphasizing time-sensitive nature of the 30% ITC
  • Enhanced installer controls allowing you to model $0 ITC for installations scheduled after December 31, 2025
  • Prominent ITC value display moved higher on quote detail pages for better visibility

Why Did We Make This Change?

The federal Investment Tax Credit is set to drop from 30% to 0% for residential installations after December 31, 2025. These enhancements help ensure shoppers understand the significant financial impact of this deadline and encourage them to move quickly to secure their installations. By making the ITC value and expiration more prominent, we're helping both shoppers maximize this valuable incentive while it's still available and ensuring you’re able to provide the most accurate information about your business and availability.

New controls to model 0% ITC are particularly important for maintaining transparency - they allow you to provide realistic cost and savings projections when installation is expected after the deadline, preventing customer disappointment and ensuring trust by setting proper expectations based on achievable installation schedules rather than misleading optimistic assumptions.

How It Works

Quote List View Enhancements

  • A new banner appears directly above quote components, matching the existing sitewide banner's gradient design
  • The banner displays the maximum potential tax credit based on submitted quotes
  • Shoppers are alerted to the end-of-year installation requirement
  • The banner recommends contacting installers to confirm installation timelines

Quote Detail View Updates

  • A prominent badge at the top of each quote displays the potential ITC value for that specific quote
  • An "Expiring" tag appears next to the Federal ITC line item in the "Financing Options in Detail" section
  • Both features emphasize the urgency of moving forward with installation

New Installer Modeling Controls

Installers can now model the ITC as $0 by setting the "projected installation date" to any date after December 31, 2025:

  • Quick/Standard/Auto Quoting: Access this field within equipment packages - setting the date to January 1, 2026 or later will show $0 ITC

  • Custom Quoting/Quote Updates: Use the project timing section on the first page of the flow to set the date explicitly

Note: The actual installation date is not displayed to shoppers - this data field only controls ITC modeling and cost and savings calculations.

What Action Should You Take?

Update your projected installation dates in your quote packages to accurately reflect realistic installation timelines. This ensures shoppers see appropriate ITC values and helps set proper expectations about tax credit availability.

Make changes here.

If you're confident you can complete installations before December 31, 2025, keep dates before this deadline to show the full 30% ITC benefit.

For installations you cannot realistically complete by year-end, set projected dates to January 1, 2026 or later to show $0 ITC and avoid misleading shoppers.

Where Will You See This Change?

  • Quote List view: New ITC urgency banner above quote components
  • Quote Detail view: ITC value badge at top of quotes and "Expiring" tags on ITC line items
  • Quote creation flows: Enhanced projected installation date controls in equipment packages and project timing sections
