How to manage customer reviews
Learn how to request, respond, and remove customer reviews on EnergySage
Customers rely on reviews when selecting an installer on EnergSage. Your customer reviews add credibility and provide social proof that helps customers feel confident in choosing your business for their solar project.
It's important to carefully manage reviews so you're always putting your best foot forward.

How to request reviews from your customers:
On EnergySage, you can request reviews from any current or previous customers, regardless of how you initially procured the lead.
- Log into the EnergySage marketplace.
- From the My Marketplace homepage, hover over your name in the upper right corner.
- In the drop-down menu, select “Get More Reviews”
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and find “Direct Link” for reviews under Option 2.
- Copy this link and email it to any customers whom you'd like to leave a review.
✨ Tip: Ask for reviews as soon as you've finished the installation. Customers are most likely to give you a positive review while the experience is still fresh.
How to respond to reviews:
To respond to a customer, click the "reply" button below the review.
We encourage you to respond to all reviews, good and bad. Unfortunately, bad reviews can happen. Be sure to address your customer's concerns and encourage them to reach out to you to resolve the problem.
Responding to positive reviews is almost as important as addressing the negative ones. Let customers know that you appreciate their time in praising your team and your work.
How to remove reviews
EnergySage is the most trusted way homeowners comparison shop for home electrification. We've built our brand on transparency and trust, so we maintain strict criteria to remove a consumer's review from an installer's profile.
EnergySage will not remove a review unless it violates one of the policies listed below. We always require proof of the violation. We rarely remove reviews.
Criteria for review removal:
1. Inappropriate Content: The review must not contain offensive language, threats, harassment, and/or any type of hate speech.
2. Not a Customer (or Prospective Customer): The review must be written by an actual customer or prospective customer of the correct company and cannot be about a third-party experience or posted by a current or past employee of the company or one of its competitors.
3. Bullying or Personal Attacks: The review must not contain any personal attacks (see #1) against the company or its employees, or any personal information of employee(s) without permission (i.e. full name, phone number, email address, etc.).
4. Demanding Payment: The review must not contain any unreasonable or financial demands of the company.
5. False or Wrongful Accusation: The must not review contain an accusation of an action or event that the company believes did not occur or is written under false pretenses.
If one of your reviews meets these criteria, reach out to your Partner Success Manager to request it be removed.
What about inaccurate reviews?
If you feel like a review you received is inaccurate, we encourage you to resolve it directly with the customer. Installers can always respond to a consumer's review.
