How to hide a lead

Learn how to hide a lead from your profile.

Introduction

There are two ways to remove leads from your dashboard on EnergySage: hiding and filtering. Managing leads effectively allows you to prioritize opportunities, keeping your dashboard organized so you can focus on the most viable opportunities.

Hide a lead

Leads in the "Available" tab can be hidden using the ‘hide this lead’ button (see image below). This functionality can be used if you cannot quote a lead and you are unable to return it. The ‘Hide lead’ functionality only hides the lead from the individual user's view. Other reps from the same company will still see this lead.

  1. In your leads dashboard, navigate to the Available tab
  2. Select the lead you’d like to hide
  3. Click "Hide This Lead"

Filter leads (Awaiting Quotes & Quoted Tabs)

The Can't Serve filter allows you to tag and archive leads you cannot serve in the Awaiting Quotes and Quoted tabs.

  1. Navigate to the Awaiting Quotes or Quoted tab
  2. Apply Can't Serve Tag
    • Select the leads you cannot serve
    • Apply the "Can't Serve" tag to these leads

  3. Use Filter Controls - By default, we’ve filtered leads you mark as “can’t serve” out of view, but you can toggle this filter on or off

FAQs

What is the difference between the two hiding methods?

The hide lead button permanently removes leads from your individual view in the Available tab only. The Can't Serve filter allows you to tag and filter leads that can be toggled on/off.

Will other team members see the leads I hide?

Hide lead button: Other representatives from your company will still see the lead.

Can't Serve filter: Filter behavior may vary - check with your team lead for company-specific settings.

Can I recover hidden leads?

Yes, you can always view leads by resetting your filters or clicking "hidden" in your Available leads tab.

When should I hide leads versus return them?

You should return leads as the first option when the lead meets EnergySage standards, but does not meet your preferences to provide a quote. Returning a lead means they can be redistributed to other installers so that the homeowner gets the quotes they are looking for.  Read more about returning leads here.

Use the hiding functionality when returning is not an option or when you need to archive leads for organizational purposes.
