Improved Quoting Interface - April 2026
This new update makes it easier to build quotes quickly
Summary
EnergySage is launching a new, unified quote creation experience that replaces the Standard Quote and Custom Quote interfaces with a single, streamlined tool. The new experience makes it faster to build quotes, easier to offer multiple financing options — including TPO — and consistent no matter what type of quote you're creating.

What's changed?
- One quoting interface replaces Standard Quote and Custom Quote. Instead of switching between tools depending on what you're building, you'll use a single, consistent experience for all quote creation.
- All financing options in one place. The new interface supports cash, loan, lease, PPA, and Prepaid TPO quotes — including integrated TPO providers like LightReach and GoodLeap — without toggling between different tools or quote types.
- Smarter defaults. The interface pre-populates with your most frequently used equipment packages and financing configurations, so you spend less time on setup and more time quoting.
- A property overview at the top. When you open a quote, you'll see a summary of the lead's key details — energy usage, financing preferences, storage interest, and contact information — so everything you need is visible before you start.
Why did we make this change?
Installers on EnergySage told us that managing multiple quoting interfaces slowed them down. Knowing which tool to use for a given quote — and then learning the differences between them — created extra steps and confusion, especially for teams onboarding new staff.
At the same time, TPO financing is becoming an increasingly important part of the solar market. The previous Custom Quote tool supported lease and PPA quotes, but the workflow was cumbersome and saw limited adoption. We wanted to make quoting TPO just as easy as quoting cash or a loan.
The new experience consolidates the best of all three interfaces into one, reduces the time it takes to send a complete quote, and makes the full range of financing options more accessible to every installer on the platform.
How it works
When you open a new quote, you'll see the lead's property overview at the top — contact details, energy usage, financing preferences, and storage interest — giving you the context you need before you build.
Below that, the main quote components are organized as expandable sections you fill out in order:
Equipment and system design
- Select an equipment package or configure individual components (panels, inverters, batteries).
- If you include a hybrid battery, the interface will guide you through the quoting logic for solar-only vs. battery-included configurations.
System cost and financing
- Choose which financing options to include: cash, loan, TPO (lease/PPA), and/or Prepaid TPO.
- Financial details populate from your saved packages or can be entered manually.
- If you use an integrated TPO provider like LightReach or GoodLeap, you can quote directly from this section.
- If you include a battery, you'll be prompted to set a separate price-per-watt for storage.
Incentives
- Apply incentive packages using the same package-selection logic you're familiar with from Standard quoting.
Attachments
- Upload relevant files (up to 10 attachments; supported formats include PDF, DOCX, JPEG, PNG, and others).
Contact and message
- Add a personalized message before sending.
What action do installers need to take?
No immediate action is required before the launch date. When the new interface goes live:
- Your Standard Quote and Custom Quote options will be replaced by the new experience.
- Autoquote will remain unchanged.
- We recommend exploring the new interface on your next quote — the layout is designed to feel familiar while being more efficient.
Where will you see this change?
The new quoting experience will appear anywhere you currently access quote creation on the EnergySage platform, including:
- The quote creation flow from your Leads dashboard
- Unquoted property pages
When will this change be live?
The new quote creation experience will be live on April 1, 2026. At that point, we will retire our standard quoting experience. Custom Quoting will remain available for the time being. However, we intend to retire that feature over time.
What about my existing Custom Quote setup?
If you currently use Custom Quote, your existing quotes will not be affected. Going forward, all new quotes will be created using the new interface.
