We're excited that you now have the option to list your battery offering as self-consumption or battery backup.
What is new?
For all packages created or updated after 11/12/24, you have the option to list your battery offering as self-consumption or backup. Any quotes sent before this will not retroactively update and may be unclear if the quote includes backup or not. All current packages will default to backup battery.
You will want to review your packages and see if the correct battery option is selected.
How do I take advantage of this?

What does this look like for homeowners?
Our Energy Advisors previously told consumers to check with their installer if the battery would be configured for backup. They will walk them through the difference of the two options, and what is beneficial for their region and utility. They let consumers know that typically self-consumption batteries are less expensive, but will not provide backup in the case of an outage.
