Prepaid TPO + Loan – July 2026
We've updated quote views to support Prepaid TPO (lease or PPA) offerings that include a loan, so shoppers can see loan details for prepaid financing directly in their EnergySage quotes.

What's Changed? If you offer a Prepaid TPO (lease or PPA) where the shopper finances the prepaid amount through a loan instead of paying it upfront, you can now enter and display those loan details on your EnergySage quotes. Specifically:
- Prepaid TPO card, updated: Quote Details now shows a secondary loan section below the primary paid-in-full price on the existing Prepaid TPO card — it isn't a new, separate payment type.
- New loan fields: Estimated monthly payment, loan term, interest rate (APR), loan amount, down payment, and lender name.
- Restructured details card: The Prepaid TPO details card now includes an agreement details section with production guarantee and ownership transfer timing (this applies to all Prepaid TPO quotes, whether or not a loan is included).
- Updated card copy: The description at the top of the Prepaid TPO card now reflects that financing is available, so shoppers understand what they're looking at before they get to the numbers.
- Quote Compare View: New rows in the summary and financial sections highlight the monthly payment amount.
- Quote List View: Quotes with a loan-on-prepaid-TPO offer get a light visual highlight so shoppers can spot them at a glance.

More installers are offering a financing structure EnergySage hasn't supported until now: a prepaid TPO where the shopper finances the prepaid amount through a loan rather than paying it upfront.
With the federal tax credit gone, affordability is a bigger obstacle for shoppers than it used to be. Loan-on-prepaid-TPO gives shoppers a real path to solar without a large upfront cash requirement or a long-term lease commitment.
- Loan details only display when they're entered: if you don't add loan information to a Prepaid TPO offer, your quotes look exactly as they do today. This update doesn't break or change any existing prepaid TPO quotes.
- Loan details live inside the existing Prepaid TPO card: the upfront, paid-in-full price stays the primary price; the loan option displays as a secondary section below it.
The fields available for a Prepaid TPO + loan offer are:
- Estimated monthly payment
- Loan term
- Interest rate (APR)
- Loan amount
- Down payment
- Lender name (e.g., a credit union or financing partner)
What Action Do Installers Need to Take?
To show a loan option on your Prepaid TPO quotes, enter your loan details anywhere you configure Prepaid TPO pricing:
- Prepaid TPO package settings
- When creating a quote template
- When editing a quote template
In each of these places, toggle "Loan included?" and fill in the Loan Provider, Term duration, Interest rate, and (optionally) a Loan fee. Use the Additional Notes field to help shoppers understand how the prepaid lease/PPA works, who owns the system, and what makes prepaid TPO different from a purchase or a standard loan.
Navitgate to Settings > Your Packages > Prepaid TPO > Check "Loan Included" checkbox then enter loan details.

When adding to new or exsisting quotes, you can select your Prepaid TPO package, or enter loan details manually.

Is loan-on-prepaid-TPO a new payment type?
No. It isn't a separate payment type — it displays as an added detail within your existing Prepaid TPO offering.
What happens to my current Prepaid TPO quotes?
Nothing changes. Loan fields only appear once you've entered them; quotes without loan details look the same as before this update.
Do I need to do anything if I don't offer a loan on prepaid TPO?
No action needed — your quotes will continue to display exactly as they do today.
Can I show more than one financing offering per quote?
This update only adds a loan option to your existing Prepaid TPO offer. As with other quote types, the marketplace still supports one standardized quote per installer so shoppers can compare quotes side by side.
