Quick Edit is a new streamlined quote editing tool that allows you to update your quotes in under a minute. Instead of navigating through the 5-page wizard for simple changes, Quick Edit lets you edit your most frequently changed fields, panel count, price per watt, and system design images on one page.

This feature saves time, increases responsiveness to shopper requests, and complements Autoquote by making it easy to refine AI-generated proposals.

What's Changed?

We've introduced Quick Edit, a new option for updating existing quotes that dramatically reduces the time required for common edits:

Single-page interface consolidating the most frequently edited fields
Real-time validation that automatically recalculates system details as you make changes
System design image management allowing you to view, replace, or remove Scanifly-powered designs
Instant updates that immediately appear in shoppers' marketplace views
Automatic notifications alerting shoppers when quotes are updated

Why Did We Make This Change?

The existing quote update process requires navigating through a 5-page wizard that takes 5-10 minutes to complete, even when you only need to change a single field like panel count or price per watt. This friction has led to several problems:

Low response rates: Only 30% of quote-level change requests receive responses through the platform
Workflow disruption: Many installers communicate quote changes through messages, emails, or phone calls instead of updating quotes on the platform
Missed opportunities: Properties with edited quotes close at significantly at 6-8x higher rates, compared to properties without quote edits.

Quick Edit addresses these pain points by reducing quote update time from 5+ minutes to under 1 minute. This makes it practical to:

Respond quickly to shopper change requests
Refine Autoquotes while maintaining speed advantages
Iterate on proposals throughout the decision process
Keep all quote information visible on the platform

How It Works

Quick Edit provides two ways to update your quotes, allowing you to choose the right tool for your specific needs.

Accessing Quick Edit

From either the quote detail view or your marketplace dashboard, you'll now see two editing options:

Quick Edit - streamlined single-page interface for common updates
Update Quote - comprehensive 5-page wizard for thorough edits

Current Features

Quick Edit consolidates these frequently modified fields onto one page:

Panel count with automatic system size and production recalculation
Price per watt (PPW) for quick pricing adjustments
System design image with options to view, replace, or remove

Additional Capabilities

The Quick Edit interface includes:

Property overview at the top of the page displaying shopper needs and requirements
Real-time validation ensuring all changes maintain quote integrity
System design handling where Scanifly-powered images remain attached by default, but you can replace them with custom images or remove them if the design no longer matches your updated configuration

Submission and Notification

When you save changes through Quick Edit:

Updated quote immediately appears in the shopper's marketplace view
Shopper receives an email notification about the quote update
All changes are tracked separately from full wizard updates for product improvement insights

What Action Do Partners Need to Take?

No action is required to access this new feature. To get started using Quick Edit, follow the instructions below:

Review existing quotes that may benefit from updates based on shopper feedback
Use Quick Edit for simple changes like panel count, pricing, or design image updates
Continue using the full wizard for comprehensive updates involving equipment changes, financing options, or installation setup details

The Quick Edit option will appear alongside the existing Update Quote button, giving you flexibility to choose your preferred editing method.

When Will This Change Be Live?

Quick Edit is available now for all installer partners. You can start using it immediately to streamline your quote update process.

What About the Full Quote Wizard?

The full wizard remains available:

Quick Edit is an additional option, not a replacement for the existing update flow. The comprehensive 5-page wizard will continue to be available for situations requiring:

Full equipment management (panel, inverter, storage type and count)
Financing options details
Monitoring system selection
Mount location specifications
Rich media attachments
TPO options
Other advanced configuration scenarios
