Why Sales Reporting Matters

Accurate sales reporting allows EnergySage to:

  • Properly track completed projects and close out customer records
  • Stop communications from other contractors once a homeowner has chosen your company
  • Ensure homeowners have a clear, consistent experience throughout their solar journey
  • Maintain our commission-only pricing model that benefits both partners and customers

EnergySage's pricing model is built on partnership—we only win when your installs close. Monthly sales reporting keeps this system working for everyone.

Who Needs to Submit Sales Reports

Any installer company on EnergySage's commission-only pricing model is required to submit a sales report every month. This requirement applies regardless of whether you had sales during that month—you'll still need to confirm your sales activity  to maintain your quoting privileges on the platform.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Watch for the Monthly Reminder Email

  • On the first Monday of each month, you'll receive an email requesting your sales report
  • These emails will come from receivables@energysage.com
  • Tip: If you'd like these reminders sent to a specific person on your team, reply to the monthly reminder email to let us know

2. Gather Your Sales Information

Collect the following information for all sales completed during the previous month:

  • Homeowner's first and last name
  • Homeowner's address
  • Date they signed their contract

Tip: If your CRM can generate a report of all EnergySage projects sold that month, download that report and upload it directly—no need to re-enter data manually.

3. Prepare Your Sales Report

Format your sales report in one of the following acceptable formats:

  • CSV file
  • Excel file
  • Link to your updated Google Sheet

Ensure all required fields (homeowner name, address, and contract date) are included for each sale.

4. Submit Your Report

There are two ways to submit your sales report on EnergySage:

Option 1: Submit via form

Option 2: Submit via email

  • Email your sales report directly to receivables@energysage.com
  • Attach your CSV or Excel file, or include the link to your Google Sheet in the email body

You should still respond to the monthly reminder email to confirm that you had no sales for that period. This keeps your account in good standing.

What about Cancellations?
If you've received an invoice for a homeowner who canceled their project:

What information counts as "proof of cancellation" for reversed invoices?

Acceptable proof typically includes signed cancellation documentation, email confirmation from the homeowner, or similar official records. Contact receivables@energysage.com if you have questions about specific situations.
